Mini Project - Online Tx Of Electric Meter Reading

Online Tx Of Electric Meter Reading

Abstract
The main aim of this project is to make electricity bills to the concerned person or electricity department. We will connect hardware kit i.e. microcontroller to the energy meter. This hardware kit consists of RTC (real time clock) .We have to calculate electricity bill every end of the month .So, Microcontroller will find the end of the month by using this real time clock. In the end of the month it automatically calculates the units of electricity used and the bill is displayed using LCD.  In the microcontroller program we have to include calculation of units into rupees formulas.

Hardware Used:

·         89c51 Microcontroller
·         RTC
·         LCD
·         Energy Meter

SOFTWARE USED:

1.      Keil u-Vision

Keil Software is used provide you with software development tools for 8051 based microcontrollers. With the Keil tools, you can generate embedded applications for virtually every 8051 derivative. The supported microcontrollers are listed in the µ-vision.

Mini Projects - Wireless µC based transmission line cut identifier

Wireless µC based transmission line cut identifier

Abstract:

This circuit detects all the voltages and currents from their respective transformers. According to the received voltages and currents, power will be calculated. This method includes receiving data of the measured power consumed by a plurality of power customers, receiving delivered power data that includes data of the power delivered to the plurality of power customers, determining a difference between the receiving data and the maximum power data, determining that the receiving data is greater than a predetermined amount immediately an electrical device will be turned off. If the receiving data is lesser than the predetermined amount then it sends information to the substation that power is not there using the RF Communication.

Mini Project - MOTORISED OBJECT LIFTING JACK

MOTORISED OBJECT LIFTING JACK

Abstract:

For many people robot is a machine that imitates a human—like the androids in Star Wars, Terminator and Star Trek: The Next Generation. However much these robots capture our imagination, such robots still only inhabit Science Fiction. People still haven't been able to give a robot enough 'common sense' to reliably interact with a dynamic world. The type of robots that you will encounter most frequently are robots that do work that is too dangerous, boring, onerous, or just plain nasty. Most of the robots in the world are of this type. They can be found in auto, medical, manufacturing and space industries. In fact, there are over a million of these types of robots working for us today. A study of robotics means that students are actively engaged with all of these disciplines in a deeply problem-posing problem-solving environment.

Line follower is a machine that can follow a path. The path can be visible like a black line on a white surface (or vice-versa) or it can be invisible like a magnetic field. Sensing a line and maneuvering the robot to stay on course, while constantly correcting wrong moves using feedback mechanism forms a simple yet effective closed loop system. As a programmer you get an opportunity to ‘teach’ the robot how to follow the line thus giving it a human-like property of responding to stimuli. The one more feature in this application there is an object lifting jack works with the help of geared motors and worm gear arrangement to lift the objects,if detected.

The main heart of the hardware module is the microcontroller which is the programmable IC. The programming language used for developing the software to the microcontroller is Embedded/Assembly. The KEIL cross compiler is used to edit, compile and debug this program. Micro Flash programmer is used for burning the developed code on Keil in to the microcontroller Chip. Here in our application we are using AT89C51 microcontroller which is Flash Programmable IC.AT represents the Atmel Corporation represents CMOS technology is used for designing the IC. This IC is one of the versions of 8051.

Mini Project - HOME AUTOMATION USING IR REMOTE

HOME AUTOMATION USING IR REMOTE

ABSTRACT:

In this competitive world human cannot spare his time to perform his daily activities manually without any fail. The most important thing he forgets to switch off the room lights wherever not required. With this, even the power will be wasted up to some extent. This project gives the best solution for electrical power wastage. Also the manual operation is completely eliminated. The home appliances can be switched on/off using IR without actually going near the switch boards or regulators. The remote used in this project is IR remote.

The loads like lights, motors, heaters, power controlling system and also current through the loads can be controlled in this project. We can control all loads at a time from one place (control room) without connecting any physical wire between loads and control room.
IR remote acts as the transmitter in this project. When a button is pressed in the remote, the signal will be passed and received by the IR receiver TSOP Receiver. This signal is sent to the microcontroller which decodes the signal and performs the corresponding action in accordance with the button pressed in the remote. For example, if number 1 is pressed in the remote, the load 1 will be switched on/off according to the user requirement. The other tasks will be performed in the similar fashion using IR.
